Sherry is a Registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency), an associate member of the Australia Psychological Society (APS) and a registered

Medicare Provider. Sherry has an Honours Degree in Psychology and 17 years of community service experience and over 13 years clinical experience working with adults, adolescents, and children in a variety of settings. Sherry aims to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals to gain insight in the areas of life that may be causing distress. In a collaborative treatment process, Sherry will work with clients to enable them to overcome these issues and develop towards their full-potential.

Sherry uses an integrated therapeutic approach to counselling and psychotherapy tailoring the intervention to meet the unique needs of the client. Sherry has trained in various therapeutic modalities and will discuss with each client which approach can best suit their needs. Approaches may include Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Psychodynamic approaches, Expressive Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Directive and Non-directive Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique EFT-Tapping and Simple Energy Technique, Clinical Hypnosis/Hypnotherapy and Schema Therapy.

Before starting in private practice in 2013 Sherry worked for various non-government and not for profit organisations. Sherry has experience working at a specialist adolescent mental health service with adolescents and their families experiencing depression, self-harm and suicidal ideation. She has coordinated a drug and alcohol service specialising in the treatment of adolescents and adults experiencing difficulties related to their own or another’s drug and alcohol use and co-occurring mental health issues. Sherry has worked counselling children and adolescents who have experienced parental separation and family conflict. She has experience running groups related to drug and alcohol use, parenting, grief and loss, family and relationships, bullying and friendships, self-esteem, and parental separation.
